Africa Recovery Initiative has completed the first block of work in its foundation phase. The founding document is finalised, an active network has been established across Sudan and the diaspora, the pilot project model is defined, and initial engagement with government bodies is underway.

What is complete

  • Founding document finalised
  • Active network established — Sudan and diaspora
  • Pilot project model defined
  • Initial engagement with government bodies

What is in progress

  • Institutional registration — ongoing
  • Field assessment at the pilot site — June 2026

What comes next

  • First funding secured — Q3 2026
  • Pilot implementation begins — Q4 2026

ARI is establishing its Sudan entry point through two complementary locations: Khartoum as an administrative hub for coordination, capacity building and resource mobilisation; and Tendelti as the field pilot site, where the integrated community, environmental and service recovery model will be tested and refined.

The Sudan pilot is designed as a proof of concept — a replicable model that can be adapted for other conflict-affected contexts across Africa once evidence is consolidated.
